Luse Contracting Group, a fifth-generation family business providing mechanical insulation and environmental remediation services, is proud to announce that Ashley Luse DeBoer assumed full ownership of the company on January 1, 2025, marking the company’s historic transition to 100% woman-owned. As one of the few family businesses to survive into the fifth generation—an achievement less than 1% of family-owned companies can claim—Luse Contracting Group continues to solidify its place as a leader in the construction industry.
Founded in 1923 in Chicago, Luse Contracting Group has spent the past century delivering high-quality services to clients in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, with a reach extending beyond state borders for specialty projects. Headquartered in Aurora, IL, the company has built a reputation as one of the top union mechanical insulation contractors in the Chicago market, servicing critical systems across high-rise office buildings, manufacturing plants, data centers, power plants, and steel mills.
Ashley Luse DeBoer, who became president of Luse Contracting Group in 2020, takes great pride in leading the family business into its next chapter. Under her leadership, the company has focused on expanding its Midwestern footprint while pursuing operational excellence and using data to quantify the energy savings generated for its clients—a process she refers to as “scaling our impact.”
Reflecting on the company’s values, Ashley embraces a management philosophy known as the Triple Bottom Line, which evaluates a company’s impact on People, Planet, and Profit. “I feel strongly that each of our business units has a very clear Triple Bottom Line proposition,” she explained. “Our Environmental Remediation company plays a pivotal role in creating safer environments for people by removing hazardous materials from buildings. And our Mechanical Insulation business has significant on the planet by saving energy and reducing carbon emissions.”
In honor of the company’s 100th anniversary, Luse Contracting Group quantified the environmental impact of its work, and the findings were staggering. Over the past century, Luse has insulated over 63 million feet of pipe—equivalent to 12,000 miles, or halfway around the world. This has resulted in saving 480.2 trillion BTUs of energy and preventing 74.7 billion pounds of CO2 emissions. “To put that into perspective,” Ashley added, “this energy impact is equivalent to offsetting the consumption of 78.3 million barrels of oil, converting 1.2 billion incandescent lamps to LEDs, or preserving 400,000 acres of forest over those same 100 years.”
As Ashley steps into full ownership, she is supported by a dedicated leadership team that shares her commitment to excellence and safety. Together, they are focused on driving Luse Contracting Group forward, ensuring the company continues to thrive for future generations.
