As Luse Contracting Group’s fifth-generation owner, Ashley Luse DeBoer brings a strong foundation in business and finance from her prior career in investment management and investment banking, along with an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Since joining the company, she has introduced structured strategic planning processes and a focus on performance metrics that drive operational efficiency and long-term growth.

Ashley is passionate about the energy-saving power of mechanical insulation and the life-saving importance of asbestos remediation. She is also deeply committed to advancing Luse’s long standing culture of generosity and community involvement. Her vision is to build a legacy of impact by scaling the company’s influence on people and the planet through thoughtful, strategic expansion.

Ashley serves the industry as a Management Trustee for the Local 17 Heat & Frost Insulators Pension & Welfare Funds and sits on the boards of the Illinois Regional Insulation Contractors and the Wisconsin Insulation Contractors Association. She is also an active committee member of the National Insulation Association, the Chicago Building Congress, and the Chicago Chapter of the Federation of Women Contractors.

Outside of work, Ashley is devoted to homemaking and family life—she cherishes her roles as wife and mom even more than her title of CEO. She is also active in ministry at Notre Dame Parish in Clarendon Hills, IL.

Mark Pytka has been a dedicated member of the Luse Family of Companies for over 30 years, playing a key role in the company’s continued success. As Vice President of Financial Operations, he oversees both the Accounting and Operations teams, ensuring clear communication of the company’s financial health and collaborating across departments to help make Luse the best it can be. Mark believes that open, effective communication at every level is essential to a successful business. He is passionate about fostering a positive work environment where people are excited to come to work each day.

Mark holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is a member of the Construction Financial Management Association. Outside the office, he enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Carole Casey serves as Controller for Luse Contracting Group, bringing a breadth of GAAP accounting experience and a strong foundation in financial reporting. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), she oversees critical financial operations including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, job cost analysis, tax filings, and audit preparation. Carole is passionate about building organized, efficient systems that support accurate financial reporting and long-term business success.

Carole holds a B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and is proficient in specialized construction accounting software, including Foundation and Payroll4Construction. Outside of work, she enjoys decorating, crafting, and spoiling her grandkids.

Gordon Vierck leads Luse’s Insulation operations in the Chicago market with a focus on service, strategic growth, and empowering his team. With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, his background spans operations management, sales, and estimating, giving him a well-rounded perspective on what it takes to deliver excellence from bid to closeout.

Gordon’s leadership style centers on equipping people with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed. He is committed to creating opportunities for others to grow while building a culture grounded in high standards and teamwork.

Gordon holds a B.A. from Montana State University–Billings and is a Certified Insulation Inspector. He serves the industry as a member of the Board of Directors and President-Elect of the Midwest Insulation Contractors Association (MICA), as well as a board member of the Local 17 Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC).

Outside of work, Gordon enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and traveling.

Charlie Fox brings over 40 years of experience in the construction industry, specializing in cradle-to-grave construction management. As General Manager of Luse’s Wisconsin Insulation branch, Charlie leads with selflessness, dedication, and deep industry knowledge. He is a natural teacher and is passionate about developing his team members to achieve their own successes. Charlie approaches every project with a clear philosophy: prioritize the project first, and the stakeholders will succeed as a result. This principle has guided him through decades of successful project delivery and strong client relationships.

Charlie has degrees in Real Estate, Architecture & Business and is a certified Insulation Energy Appraiser. He also has training and certifications in Firestopping, Asbestos/Lead/Mold Abatement, SSPC Painting, and is a Licensed Builder. Outside of work, Charlie enjoys restoring off-road motorcycles following a lifelong hobby of off-road motorcycle Enduro Racing.

With 40 years of experience in the mechanical insulation industry, Tom Golden brings deep expertise and hands-on leadership to his role as Insulation General Superintendent at Luse. After completing his apprenticeship with Local 17 Heat & Frost Insulators and spending 20 years in the field, Tom transitioned into his current leadership role, where he oversees crews with a focus on safety, quality, and profitability. As a leader, Tom lives by a simple philosophy: he never asks his team to do anything he wouldn’t do himself. This approach has helped him build a strong team of leaders who prioritize doing the job right—every time. Outside of work, Tom enjoys vacationing with his wife, riding his motorcycle, working out, and serving as a director at his local sportsman’s club.

Ian Schoettel plays a key leadership role on our team, staffing and supervising all project crews for our Wisconsin Insulation branch. Demonstrating his dedication to quality and commitment to transparency, Ian is responsible for ensuring that every job meets our team’s high standards. Ian completed his apprenticeship with Local 19 Heat & Frost Insulators and spent 12 years in the field before transitioning into his current role. Now, he also gives back to the industry as a Joint Apprenticeship Committee (JAC) Member and Trustee for Local 19. Outside of work, Ian enjoys golfing, bowling, and spending time with family and friends.

A former Local 17 field insulator, Bill now oversees multiple multi-million-dollar projects each year and is known for building strong, long-term relationships with clients. He takes pride in earning trust by consistently delivering high-quality results—on time and on budget. Bill’s deep understanding of mechanical insulation systems makes him a valuable leader and problem-solver on every job. Outside of work, Bill enjoys boating, hunting, and fishing.

With over 50 years of experience in the construction industry, Robert (Bob) Whitesell brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to his role as Senior Estimator for Luse’s Environmental Services division. A former business owner, Bob manages multi-million-dollar projects annually. He is known for his expertise in project management and his ability to build and sustain strong client relationships. He takes pride in delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget. A long-time former board member of the Illinois Environmental Contractors Association (IECA), Bob continues to be a respected voice in the industry. Outside of work, he enjoys photography, RV-ing across the country, and spending time with his family.
